Let me let you in on a little secret that no married man on this forum is going to say.
Probably most trad married men get to a point where the thought does occur to them "What on earth did I get myself into".

Because women are masters of keeping up a good face before marriage.

Then they get hormonal and moody with pregnancy. Bored later on, and generally difficult.

Unless she has a strong focus instilled into her from her trad family background she will be almost certainly difficult to deal with no matter how well you "get along".

So what you should look for is a strong traditional background.

A family that are neither too wordly nor mad with bizarre theories.

I wish I had heard this advice earlier:

It's true that back in the day, and most of us have family members like this, marriage was much closer to arranged marriages, in the sense that it was a "well she's a decent enough lady" and viceversa and even if they didn't particularly mesh together they still got married, had kids and raised them, etc. The fact that both spouses had their own group / family members they mostly hung out with helped greatly.

But nowadays, whether you like it or not, modern life and jobs force you to spend almost all your free time with your spouse and kids.

The problem is this, and I get why it happens, the dating market nowadays for a young person is horrible so it feels like if you have found a trad girl/man that's decent enough you're very blessed and should go for it, but truth is it doesn't matter if they're trad and "based" and all that, if you don't actually enjoy talking and spending time together, if you marry them, you're most likely gonna loathe life and want to avoid your own home.

I'm not saying this is how it should be, but it's how it is,
This is important.  The couples need to find commonality and a way to support (emotional and physically) each other that was never required in generations past.

You brought up some good points there.

Not just "how good of a Trad is she" but how CONSERVATIVE was her upbringing in general?

I've seen plenty of long-time SSPX attendees be LOUSY with liberalism, feminism, and worldliness -- meanwhile I've seen converts and "converts to Tradition" who are genuine, true-blue Trads who are integrally Catholic (Catholic 24/7) and who really live the Faith.

I think it has more to do with their culture -- how they were brought up -- than any adherence to Tradition that was added some time later.

But also there are going to be some challenges, etc. with just about anyone you marry. The question is: Are you equipped to be mature about it and deal with those challenges well, when the time comes?
Are you good at communicating, controlling your emotions, have a FIRM and unshakable foundation in Fearing the Lord, etc. That is the sine qua non, the dealbreaker, when deciding to get married.

You also touched on the point of WHY does she believe stuff, not just WHAT does she believe. A woman who believes a truth accidentally (because she FEELS its right) is worse than a woman who holds an error while doing everything right (she had the right thought process, she was trying, but happened to be wrong because she missed something).
As Our Lord said, "Judge not according to appearances, but judge just judgement." You have to look deeper.

Look at all the SSPX Catholics who (turns out!) weren't there for the right reason -- just there for convenience, socializing, popularity, etc. Meanwhile, there could be a good conservative Catholic attending the Novus Ordo because she hasn't found anything better yet, but her LIFESTYLE is actually more Trad than many of the Trads warming the pews in the SSPX!
Again, you have to look at the individual, and not just judge books by their covers.

An interesting topic for discussion!

Also check on the other's mental health before getting married: any OCD, Intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression, emotional trauma, etc. Not sure how to find out, then start looking it up to see how these people's brains process information and how it affects emotions and judgment. What may seem like a case of scruples may actually be OCD, depending on the severity of the anxiety caused by the scruple. If I only knew! Too late for me, but not for you!

.

What all us men have to absolutely beat into our brains is that women from the age of 14 are on a totally different timeline to us. Everything in them screams I want babies. But men want peace and stability. So in our society which does not support men setting themselves up as patriarchical leaders, we need WAY more time to do that. Like 10-20 years more depending on your particular situation.

But women are INCAPABLE of understanding this.
I'm a male and I don't think I will be able to provide until my in my 30s possibly even 40s. I fear no young lady will want to marry an 'old' guy, since that's how most woman of today think.
