I am the person who said that, not the other ones below.

Anyway, my response is , yes that makes it harder. But you have to try your best.

Mixed company is not a good thing generally.

In Catholic societies for 2000 years, men hung out with men, and women with women.

But try suggesting that to your modern trad, and they think you have two heads.

So in that case, lean on your male friends. Hang out with them as much as possible. Honestly I also thing making friends with older men is also a good thing, because you benefit from their stability and life experience. One of my best friends is twenty years older than me.

I mean you have to be selective, even with your male friends. If they keep wanting to drag you into mixed company settings try to pull them out of it, and if they wont listen, dont be their friends.

Get some focus in your life.

Because, I know I am total hypocrite when I say this, but it is a waste of time talking to single women until you feel totally confident to start a family. You really should try to avoid "drifting" into a marriage.

Because that give the upper hand to the woman, who can smell you are not ready. And she will exploit that. Trust me, this is experience speaking.

What all us men have to absolutely beat into our brains is that women from the age of 14 are on a totally different timeline to us. Everything in them screams I want babies. But men want peace and stability. So in our society which does not support men setting themselves up as patriarchical leaders, we need WAY more time to do that. Like 10-20 years more depending on your particular situation.

But women are INCAPABLE of understanding this.

Look at all the idiot boomer women on this site alone. These are traditional women, who are well over 50, who should be wise matriarchal, understanding figures, and they say the most stupidest things ever against this. Their husbands have let them down. They're just women at the end of the day. But its absolutely maddening at the same time.

So bottom line is , trad brothers, we each have to carve our own lives, make our own path in this world of apostasy. If this involves a woman helping us in producing the next generation in a stable way, that's great. If not, it is the will of God. End of story.
This is one of the best posts I have seen in a long time. You have stated a very uncomfortable truth that many in tradition will have a very difficult time accepting and applying.

Catholicism is opposed to:
- Coeducation
- Women in the workforce (outside of necessity)
- Women in the military (outside of very limited support roles like the nuns who nursed soldiers on both sides)
-Mixed religious houses (nuns and monks together)
-Church fathers strongly urge men and women be separated at Holy Mass.
-Co-ed sports
-Co-ed public bathrooms

This covers pretty much every corner of any society. There is a very strong implicit separation of men and women together in almost any setting outside of the home. Even in the home, boys bedrooms and girls bedrooms are supposed to be separate.

I mean I went to a single-sex school and work in a dominantly male industry so a lot of this makes sense to me anyway. But is there harm in having mixed company settings with families? In tea rooms? On Pilgrimages?

I get what you're saying but in a community, one will see others in the appropiate setting and one shouldn't swing too far the other way to the point you avoid these appropiate mixed settings

Obviously there are mixed settings that are fine, but in all things we just have to be wary. We get into such a mode in today's world of staying silent when we see immodesty and other such things, that our minds become indifferent to the dangers.

Use common sense and dont be a puritan.

But I suppose I am thinking mostly of times after Mass where its just the singles together.

I'm mostly sure I'm gonna break up with my girlfriend because we just don't really work together, I don't see us spending the rest of our lives together.

To those of you that have had break-ups, any tips on how to make it as painless as possible? I want to prevent her from thinking there's something wrong with her and blaming herself, that it just ends in good terms and we both court other people, just stuff like that. Thank you so much.
I would literally just share what you've said here.   You've stated it well and with due consideration for her.   Well done.

One of the top reasons a girl gets married within a year today is because all her friends are and she's gonna worry.

Trust me on that.

It's when her circle of friends get married is when she will in the near future.

I wish I had heard this advice earlier:

It's true that back in the day, and most of us have family members like this, marriage was much closer to arranged marriages, in the sense that it was a "well she's a decent enough lady" and viceversa and even if they didn't particularly mesh together they still got married, had kids and raised them, etc. The fact that both spouses had their own group / family members they mostly hung out with helped greatly.

But nowadays, whether you like it or not, modern life and jobs force you to spend almost all your free time with your spouse and kids.

The problem is this, and I get why it happens, the dating market nowadays for a young person is horrible so it feels like if you have found a trad girl/man that's decent enough you're very blessed and should go for it, but truth is it doesn't matter if they're trad and "based" and all that, if you don't actually enjoy talking and spending time together, if you marry them, you're most likely gonna loathe life and want to avoid your own home.

I'm not saying this is how it should be, but it's how it is,
