Anecdotes of Trad Catholic Marriages, Couples

In this thread we post (anonymously if necessary) data points, or stories, of Trad couples we know. How it went, the main points, any major things that happened, what major problems came up, how many kids they had, etc.

Ideally we could collect hundreds of these, and draw some real patterns.

Please leave out any details which could identify the individuals in question.

Traditional Catholic man attending SSPX, married in SSPX, has kids. Leaves kids and his wife, perhaps with civil divorce, states "she has mental problems", "I did not know when I married her, etc." Years later meets a young woman, secretly courting her without transparency to parents. Elopes away with her to get married. Goes to novus ordo priest who helps him get an annulment on grounds "SSPX married them - invalid". NO priest marries them in semi private wedding, not inviting parents of either one. Man & young lady end up abandoning tradition and attending novus ordo.

Young man not too bright, but very strong in piety. Attends traditional seminary. Leaves seminary at some point. Gets married to Novus girl, who shared one of his devotions. They have 2 children. Children aren't baptized until they are over 6 months old. At some point, they get divorced. Man openly courting women, talking about it on social media. Eventually gets "remarried" to black woman, who isn't even Catholic, much less traditional. Don't know how he's doing the last few years.

Meet young lady at my SSPX chapel with a young child, notice this young mom has the same name as my daughter. Talk to her and her mother after Mass several times. She seemed like a single mom, since she was with her daughter and mother when she came to Mass. Was happy to meet fellow trad Catholics. 

Fast forward a year or two.

Find out she was with some guy (probably not Catholic) and ended up committing ѕυιcιdє with a gun. I presume it was relationship-related.  Was a bit shocked, and wondered what was going on in her life to cause such desperation. I never would have guessed it to see her sitting in the congregation at my chapel.

Life long trad girl meets a Methodist man online, not the Internet but an online bulletin board, at 15. Was her first boyfriend. Married him as soon as she turned 18 and graduated high school. Was homeschooled only from 9th grade on. She got a Canonical dispensation via the local Indult community (approved by Rome) to marry a non-Catholic. They both agreed to raise the children Catholic.

They had 4 children in quick succession, then the Methodist refused to continue growing such a large family. He started sleeping on the couch as it were, taking care of his own needs by himself. Fast forward a couple years, the girl invites an online friend, a man, to stay with them. Don't know why the husband would be OK with this, but it happened. Sure enough, nature wasn't mocked and she had an affair with this house guest and had to leave after she became pregnant by him. After this separation, they got formally divorced. She eventually had 2 children with this second guy. Then the second guy left her and ghosted her.

Last I heard, she found a third guy, a "good Christian" as she describes it, married him, and took his last name. She hasn't had any other children that I know of, but she's in her late 40's at this point.
