I thought it was soon to be over once they αssαssιnαtҽd Khamenei. However, Iran seems to have been ready, and with the comments of the Iranian foreign minister of generals now acting independently, this looks to be another Afghanistan but against much better armed opponent.

Iran has chosen not to try and take the military win, but the greater economic win, with its attacks on energy infrastructure:

Military Summary's latest video mentions potential issues with food supplies in the Gulf States


So not only could we see energy price related inflation throughout the world, the Gulf states will find out how much the US actually values them (continue the war and starve their citizens, or call it off and let shipping resume).
