There are SO MANY things that could mess up the "fake peace" we are currently living in.

Peak Oil (the world becoming unable to pump enough oil to meet demand), a stock market crash, the Housing Bubble (which is already bursting), any of the above combined with massive (unprecedented) personal debt -- and unprecedented mortgage debt. Even the USA is now 9 trillion in debt instead of 6 trillion (just 4 years ago), thanks to Bush and the War on Terror.

So all of this is unprecedented. There have been housing crashes before, stock market crashes, etc. but NEVER of the scale we're about to see. Too many things are coming together (as they call it, "a perfect storm").

Then there's North Korea, Russia getting very antagonistic to the US (as a reaction to the USA getting VERY high and mighty toward them...), China working with Russia to combat US world dominance, Iran, Israel itching for a huge mideast war, etc. The USA is getting VERY proud and trying to dominate the whole world. That alone will spark SOME country to fight against us, and they'll be justified! (as in, they could do so if they were a good Catholic nation)

Any one of those things could mess up our comfortable suburban lives VERY EASILY.

Whichever "event" starts affecting the common man first, SOMETHING is going to make life 1 or 2 years from now VERY, VERY different from life today.

The chances of "life as usual" continuing for more than a few months are almost zilch.

So things like "saving for retirement like Grandpa and Grandma did", etc. seem quite out of place. We need to face the reality of our current situation.

Am I wrong that usually even five years before any of the big revolutions things were pretty quite. A false peace as you say, but with rumblingsin the backround. It is shocking tome just how fast things can turn to total hell and communism in just a few short years.

Thanks, Campy for the list -- most of those things I was aware of, but I didn't have them in a handy text file :)

I think it really helps to PUT IT ALL TOGETHER as you have done, to see the big picture -- just how precarious our world situation is right now.

Otherwise, we can forget an individual news story, or give it little importance. But as a group...

Yes, because it shows what a small % chance that the world will continue "as usual" for more than 1 or 2 years.

That will hopefully result in more people living a more serious life -- which is always a good thing.

I'm going to be editing, deleting and reposting this post often:

The Iranians are a big customer of Russian military stuff.

Imagine how the Russians would feel if one of their big buyers was taken down by the US?

The Chinese want Taiwan back, but the US (Bush) has "vowed" to defend Taiwan.

The North Koreans have tested a nuclear weapon and the US has threatened to impose sanctions.

The North Koreans claim they will see sanctions as an act of war, the US (Bush) has vowed to defend South Korea.

A piece of a North Korean missile was found in Alaska, a sign of how far the weapon can travel.

The North Koreans might actually have been developing a Hydrogen bomb, a much more powerful weapon than suspected.

The Japanese military (what's left of them) is doing joint military exercises with Russia and China.

India and Pakistan are still angry with each other and both have nukes. Recent claims say that the Pakistanis are funding terrorists against India.

The Israelis might reinvade Lebanon and Gaza Strip. This along with a possible Syrian attack on Israel might draw Iran to go on the offensive.

The French forces in Lebanon are threatening to start firing at any and all Israeli warplanes entering Lebanese airspace. The French have ties to Lebanon and the French people are said to have sympathy for the Lebanese.

The Iranians and Syrians have agreed to defend each other if either is attacked.

The Iranians are in the middle of a three year schedule they set up to destroy Israel.

There are rumors of an Al Qaeda agent with a nuke travelling inside the US. The 9/11 truth movement thinks its a government sponsored terrorist, and they will use the attack to strengthen support for the war "against" terror.

The Israelis might have enough nukes to turn the Middle East into a glowing sandbox. But it can not be known for sure. Of all the nations, Israel is the only one that has no UN weapons inspectors.

Muslim immigrants are only one koran verse interpretation away from becoming extremists. The US gov't might launch another false terrorist attack in order to establish martial law, and possibly the Military Draft.

The increasing international "Union" governments that promote Globalization are closer to establishing their nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr every day.

The crazy Rapture believing Protestants are supporting Zionism unceasingly. Other pawns of the NWO, the Masonically founded "religions": Jehovah's witnesses and Mormons might show HUGE support for what's going on.

Russia has been spying on its neighbors. The US has set up bases around Russia and other nations it may fight with.

The Venezuelans aren't much of a threat, but they are updating their military with money they are making off their oil.

The Chinese are developing a new technology that threatens any satellites orbiting above and around them.

The Chinese are rumored to be plotting to αssαssιnαtҽ Kim Jong Il, the North Korean dictator.
