What are your thoughts over a Military confrontation between Russia and the US? Lots of neocons want to fight Russia because of this idea of American exceptionalism.
What should we as trads do if that were to happen?
Assuming the war doesn't last a mere two hours (i.e. nuclear war) the US would reinstate the draft so you would have to avoid that. Also there would be food and other precious resource restrictions, and most likely martial law.
The Russian military would kill ours because of both numbers and training because every male in Russia has to have a mandatory one year of military service. So they would be able to field a well trained army much quicker than the US. Then we would have to address whether or not the US economy could survive another war. The reason economies flourish in war is because they government is investing trillions into equipment and troops training/upkeep. Well the US gov't doesn't have trillions anymore, except in debt. So they would be mass printing money to make up the difference and therefor inflating the economy so dramatically that the gov't would probably collapse in a year. Civil unrest would be everywhere too, because of a food shortage and our oil reserves would probably end up being depleted trying to fuel our tanks or selling oil for pennies because they're so broke.
The prior is just what I believe would happen and I'd like to think that it's far fetched but some of these things happen in times of peace so one thing I can say will be fact is the US economy and it's gov't won't survive a war. Too expensive.
