I'm not a fan of Rense, but I also believe that Israel will attack Iran "soon".
Apparently, fans of the Great Whore (who has blasphemously taken Our Lady's name) have petitioned Israel to "postpone the Iran attack until after her performance in Israel in late May"
All I can say is: Iran is NOT Iraq. They have allies (Russia, China), they are armed, and they will defend themselves. This will not be Iraq II, it will be World War III!
Get your preps, and get them now. Just remember the 5 G's.
Since we're all traditional Catholics here, we presumably have our spiritual bases covered. So after you have "God", you then proceed to make sure you have the other bases covered: "Ground", "Gold", "Guns", "Grains".
Ground -- own land, preferably in the country. This includes implements, supplies, seeds, etc. to make use of it to grow your own food. Even city folk can raise small animals, and can dig things like "door covered trench shelters" to survive nuclear fallout (google it!)
Guns -- self explanatory. But don't forget ammo -- otherwise it's just an expensive club or hammer. This is your "insurance" category to make sure roving hordes or gangs don't steal your Ground, Grains, Gold -- or Girls (females in your family). Don't think guns are distasteful -- watching someone violate your wife, daughter, mother or sister would be much more distasteful. Self-defense is not wrong or sinful.
Grains -- this includes food and water, preferably kinds that last a long time and don't NEED to be cooked. You can eat canned ravioli right out of the can. You might also get some wood, strike-anywhere matches, charcoal, an outdoor grill, a propane stove, solar oven, and other equipment needed to prepare food and purify water. Water is important -- you can only survive without it for a few days. Pack away some bleach for water purification, and have some large containers to put water in. Milk jugs work fine for a few months before they start leaking, but 2-liter bottles and other (thicker) plastic jugs last much longer. Some basic medical supplies are also very helpful to have around.
Gold -- this includes silver (hahaha) and other things that everyone universally values (alcohol, medical supplies, tools, solar panels) and also things that are "nice" but you can live without. In this category go all "practical things" -- the stuff that anyone and everyone can use. Gas cans, tools, tarps, raincoats, comforters, pails, you name it. For ideas, think "What would make my life more bearable if I had to live an 1840's existence -- if there were no cars, supermarkets, imports from China, or electricity" This is where you spend the rest (if any) of your Preps budget, after you have the basics covered.
I'd also like to add another "G", and that is "Group". If you're trying to survive completely alone, it will be very, very difficult. Self-sufficiency is not usually achieved by an individual, but rather by some kind of group. The more neighbors/friends/family you can bring on board, the better. It's much better if you band together with others to pull through a survival situation. Just try to be prudent in who you bring on board.
One last thing -- if things really unravel, people will revert to a more primal state. If your neighbor(s) wouldn't be on your side in prison, he probably won't be too friendly post-collapse. When people are scared and "on their own", they revert to a very tribal stick-with-my-own-kind mentality. In prison all the races separate like oil and water. People band together for protection with those they trust the most -- which apparently are those who look something like themselves.
If you and your neighbors have the Catholic Faith all this is moot -- but I'm just warning you about this one point of human nature, for those of you who have never been to prison (or read about it). Racism, tribalism, cruelty, etc. are not dead just because it's 2012. They're just sleeping -- because everyone feels safe right now.
