I found this to be an interesting interview. Viktor Bout is more thoughtful and reflective than I thought he would be (given that he's a convicted arms dealer). He said that his religion requires forgiveness (regarding his incarceration). I found that quite insightful, though he doesn't mention religion beyond that.

He is also supportive of the Russian attacks on Ukraine, saying that it should have been done back in 2014, due to the persecution of Russians in Donbas.

I tend to think that rather, Putin must be saddened and very concerned over it.  I think he'd rather see a sane, cooperative and mutually respectful America than a failed state that endangers the world.

Putin, saddened? This is a man who αssαssιnαtҽs and imprisons his political opponents. He can do what he needs to do for power. More people should read or listen to his more incendiary public statements on what he is willing to do to America.

Perhaps nothing compared to what God Almighty is willing to do to not only America, but the whole world.
