Title: Travel Tyranny
Post by: Mark 79 on October 27, 2020, 05:58:58 PM
New COVID-19 Security Measures Will Make Health a Prerequisite for Travel (https://www.mintpressnews.com/commonpass-new-covid-security-measures-will-make-health-a-prerequisite-for-travel/272298/)
As the multi-sector, global response to the coronavirus tightens the noose around civil liberties, CommonPass stands out as one of the most appalling and dangerous attacks on basic human rights in the name of public health.

Many conservative commentators have talked about this for months -- there are actual video advertisements for these "healthpass" apps which will turn red when you have to get your COVID test "renewed" and you probably won't be able to buy or sell until you receive this mark of the beast...

An app for everything!  Nobody in my household even owns a cell phone.  We have one old tablet that picks up on a neighbor’s WiFi.  (yes, with his permission!). I’m the only one who knows how to use the tablet.

I found Mint Press largely because of the excellent investigative journalism of Whitney Webb.
Her (shared) new site The Last American Vagabond (she lives in Chile) has been under attack: https://www.thelastamericanvagabond.com/

Using apps/tablets by choice is one thing.

But being forced to have "papers" for the roadblocks all over the country, and a ticket to get into any store or public place, is another thing.

Totally unacceptable; a complete loss of freedom.

In this scene, defecting Russian naval officers are contemplating how nice it will be, to be able to drive from state to state in America with no papers.

That America seems to be dying on the vine before our eyes:

Yes, Whitney does a very through job in her investigations, with plenty of sources referenced. It is amazing how she can keep remember all those details and names when she is being interviewed.

Funny how you mention that.
I vividly recall that, in school, we used to ridicule the Soviets for requiring permission to travel in their own country.…

But being forced to have "papers" for the roadblocks all over the country,

That is the precise situation in the Philippines today.  In many respects the scamdemic under Duterte (a truly failed slug/thug leader) has brought on a situation far worse than your standard martial law.  To travel from Iligan City, for example, to get to Fr. Chazal's chapel in the city of El Salvador you need 3 separate sets of official papers -- one from the local government unit (LGU), another from the local health department attesting to the fact that you are not positive for Covid nor that you are being monitored for same, and finally a set of papers from the local police department.  (Of course, there is a lot of ka $ching, ka $ching in the process of obtaining all these papers for each of your separate trips to a chapel about an hour plus away) Fr. Chazal can confirm this outrageous situation which has been in effect since around last March.

I can't believe it has actually come to this, but so many Americans would happily enter a "Papers, Please" nαzι dystopia if it was done "to combat COVID-19".

You know, that nothingburger virus that is so "serious", you have to be TESTED TO DETERMINE IF YOU EVEN HAVE IT.
