But being forced to have "papers" for the roadblocks all over the country,

That is the precise situation in the Philippines today.  In many respects the scamdemic under Duterte (a truly failed slug/thug leader) has brought on a situation far worse than your standard martial law.  To travel from Iligan City, for example, to get to Fr. Chazal's chapel in the city of El Salvador you need 3 separate sets of official papers -- one from the local government unit (LGU), another from the local health department attesting to the fact that you are not positive for Covid nor that you are being monitored for same, and finally a set of papers from the local police department.  (Of course, there is a lot of ka $ching, ka $ching in the process of obtaining all these papers for each of your separate trips to a chapel about an hour plus away) Fr. Chazal can confirm this outrageous situation which has been in effect since around last March.

I can't believe it has actually come to this, but so many Americans would happily enter a "Papers, Please" nαzι dystopia if it was done "to combat COVID-19".

You know, that nothingburger virus that is so "serious", you have to be TESTED TO DETERMINE IF YOU EVEN HAVE IT.
