  • freshmouth, I have two sons in the military both intelligent, one with a very high I.Q. no, many brain-damaged persons are actually in civilian life and hateful against those who risk their life every day so freshmouthed people can live in a country that allows them to sit and twiddle their thumbs and make fun of other peoples beliefs

  • oooogh...Ive been called a name.  Let me say that I have twiddled my thumbs in the service of this country for many years, including many classified ops.

So I am not being flippant when I make that remark, just no longer under any illusions that killing people to rob them of their resources is in any way an honorable occupation.

Of course its draped in honor and patriotism, which just clouds the truth that now soldiers just uphold a brutal and perverted corrupt state.

Dont feel bad, it took me years to see thru the illusions myself.

I will pray for your sons souls, what is coming is likely to be their demise..  soory to be blunt, but there are some 10 million youths in this country and there simply wont be resources to maintain them.  They will be (and already are) sent to secure whatever resource they are tasked with.  I know they will give it their all.

The problem is the rest of the worlld also needs these resources to survive, and its gonna be a free for all, its bound to happen soon...

I just feel pity for those sucked into the militarty without full knowledge that they will be used up with impunity..

Perhaps I should be less flippant, but Im sorry, there is no longer any honor left in the management of this nation, although there exists considerable honor in its citizenry and the ranks of the military..

Its still my opinion that one must be somewhat brain damaged to join the military, but the pervasive lies still make it an attractive option..

  • They do use the natural virtues of many young men against them to get them to join the military -- manliness, courage, honor, etc.

I agree that many fine young men are "sucked" into the military -- but if they only knew the "big picture" they would never join. It is true that they are all used up like "human resources" to achieve whatever dubious objective their superiors decide on.

It's sad, because goodness is being exploited by evil men to achieve their evil ends (the furthering of the American empire, killing of Iraqi civilians, assisting Israel in their goals, etc.)

  • Maybe I mistook your remark. Sorry,if I did. I thought you were being John Kerry like in making fun of them. Do I think this war is just? NO Do I think that thousands of young men are losing their souls due to this brain-washing used on them by the military to reduce "the enemy" to something none human and then, allowing them to sit over there in that rot with time and hormones and brain-washing propaganda on their hands? Yes, I am sickened with the carnage heaped on those people and the carnage of the lost souls of  the soldiers. So, maybe you and I are not opposites at all. I am so used to seeing brainless liberals spout hate against the soldiers when in fact they hate the Iraqi people and our soldiers and just about everything else except themselves.

Dawn, you do have a way with words.

Hey, Dennis, all four of my sons have been over there at one time or another (my eldest in Desert Storm) and my youngest is there now.  I can say for a fact that it changes them and not for the better.   Sometimes talking to them is like dealing with a porcupine.  They are angry.

But I have a question for you.  My fear is that Caligula will make another of his dumb/evil moves and our boys and girls will be sitting there like fish in a barrel, totally surrounded by the enemy.  Another Custer's Last Stand or the Alamo.  I read that the British have pulled out of that one area and now our troops rely on air lifts to get their supplies.  In such a case, what are the chances of supplies ever reaching them?  Iran is, after all, a more high tech country than Iraq.

  • There is a reason why Amenijhad (sp?) says come on over Bush, make my day. Yes, they are very well prepared for war. It is what this man has done his entire career. Let us face the facts that Sadam and his piggy sons were fat, hedonistic evil tyrrants who were busy raping first grade school girls (and stealing their crayons, really they did steal them). Also Iran is very proud to say"Oh, yah you hurt me and my big brothers will be all over you." Course they are Russia and China by name.
And, if have heard that some people are trying to up the amount of care packages to the boys so each gets his own indivudual box. Why? Because the heat and their exhaustion is so high that many of OUR BOYS stay in their tents and do not even venture out for food all day because they are too worn down emotionally and physically to do so. But, will the CNN or Fox news bunnies show us pictures of that in between flashes of their panties? Nope, simply because the liberals have no sympathy for these poor young men who will be fish in a barrell as you say Trinity, and the Neo-Cons do not want us to see the truth that this is not about bringing demoncracy to the people it is about something far more sinister than that. I hate it my step-son Chris is going back come January with the Marines for one whole year. Can't talk to him he is brain-washed.
Agree Dennis? Brain-washed not brain-damaged still you are correct it is all evil for all involved

No big deal, you dont know much of me or my background from anything I have ever posted on this board and there was nothing much to be glened from the original remark, so no problems, its all good...  Im no brainless liberal, I would be right there to defend this country from depradations from a foreign power, and wouldnt hesitate using violence to repel them.  I feel the same way with my family.  Im not in any way a pacifist.  Peaceful and peace loving, but able and capable of doing what I have to to defend myself and others..

The big lies give the appeal to attract them, I once fell for it myself, but once in the indoctrination is intense.  The best in the world.  You can see the results of this for yourself, there is probably nothing I can add.  Brainwashing is an accurate term, its constant, pervasive, and peer pressured.  They are loyal fighting men, and they do what they are told to the best of their ability.  They dont ask questions, its all about blind obediance.  We used to call it robotozation..   Its only as evil as the purpose that its used for, and they are being used for evil, have no doubbts about that.  Pray for their souls, especially the ones that dont get it, and enjoy killing..

The overall situation is not too bad.

Most all the supplies come overland via truck convoy from Kuwait.  Only the remote outposts are air supplied.  There is little the Iranians could do to thwart this long term.  The biggest weakness is, except for sensitive or high value supplies the bulk of material is driven by private contractors who have the option to cut and run if things get tough..

Iran could possible effect a few air raids with limited sucess, they could also launch a ground offensive with tens or hundreds of thousands of fresh and well armed troops.  This would wreak some havoc but our vastly superior airpower would result in the loss of a decent percentage of Irans ground forces and the lines would be reestablished in short order...

Iran, without help from Russian or Chinese troops or tactical nukes is pretty impotent in the face of overwhelming US air superiority..

They already are.  Pretty much every Iraqi man woman and child would relish killing our troops.  Our superior weapons and tactics have effectively destroyed any organised resistance and its obvious ѕυιcιdє to try and attack our troops, a fact which is illustrated on a daily basis.

Irans biggest threats are naval and oil based blackmail.

Their Onyx and Sunburn missiles are formidable.  If they get one within 400 or 600 klicks of our carriers we lose a carrier or other capital ship.  We have no countermeasures.  It could get ugly..

Their biggest advatage is oil blackmail.  By destroying say Ras Tunera with a shortrange missile, something easily within their capability, they effectively short off some 40% of Earths oil.  This would have an immediate effect on the Western world.  Our economies would implode.  Millions if not billions would starve if the oil flow was not immediately restored, and it wouldnt be.  A ship sank in a couple of key places in the Straights of Hormuz would have the same effect.  It would be akin to nuclear attack, just more protracted...

If memory serves me, a klick is as far as eye can see.  You must set that straight for us barcaloungers.

That is a quote from you Dennis, I do not know how to do the quote thingy. Anyhow, Last Sunday as I was making dinner my husband was watching a show on the military channel. I was upset all night as I heard this on in the backround. The one soldier was telling of one experience he had in Iraq where dogs were eating the body of an Iraqi person killed in the hellish war. And, did he chase the dogs away, bury the body with any semblence of Christian diginitary (or even any semblence of the lie of democracy?) No, he said he laughed and clapped the dogs on saying "Go on fill your bellies." Another told of these same people who are caught in this war on their own land coming out to help one soldier who came across the dead body of an old lady. He said "It could have been my granny with her grocery bag still on her arm." Her legs had been run over and were gone. But, he tried to move her and all her parts and he said the same people he had been taught were evil came out of their homes, regardless of danger of bullets flying over their heads and his to help him.
May God have mercy, bu some day His Mercy will run out

  • My youngest, Damien, who is still over there has told me some of these kinds of things.  When he figured out that the military had lied to him about just about all of it, he was fit to be tied.  It's his job to clean up after an "incident", by the way, so I'm sure he has seen a lot.

Anyway, he told me that the Iraqis are just people, some good, some bad, some very good.  Yet he was taught otherwise.  He did say that all they want is for the US to get out of there.  I'm with them on that.  The other day he said he had to go over the wire that night.  I don't know what that means.  Perhaps Dennis could tell me.  So much is hush hush about this infernal war, I've learned not to ask questions.

  • Going over the wire is leaving the secured perimeter.  No one there to back you except your team mates, enemy territory.

  • Why in the world would they do that?  And why would they be kept in a barrel with fish shooters all around them.  Caligula makes no sense whatsoever.  Then he seriously tells us we're winning?  He's either lying deliberately or he is nuttier than I thought, which means he's gone off the scale.
