    • Four members of the evangelical Church of Iran have been sentenced to 80 lashes for consuming communion wine during a church service, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

    The UK-based organization, which advocates on behalf of persecuted Christians, reported that the court decision took place in Rasht, a city of 620,000 in the northwestern portion of the nation.

    I know that the Protestants do not recieve the body of Christ, but how often would you go to communion if you had in the back of your mind that you could recieve a similar punishment?

    • This punishment doesn't bother me because it is expected. Iran is a Muslim country where other religions are suppressed. According to their religion the punishment makes sense. I wish I lived in a Catholic country where other religions were suppressed.
