And the United States has enough nuclear weapons to turn the entire planet into radioactive ash several times over.  This is "new" Cold War rhetoric, and nothing more, in my opinion.  If anyone decides to start a nuclear war, it will be a war where there is no victor.

I remember the Cuban Missile Crises October 1962.

At that time there was much emphasis in fallout shelters,
even the parochial school I attended built in 1955 was equipped
with a fallout shelter.  Many buildings around had fallout
shelter signs that directed the public into large basements that

My Dad spend the whole summer of 1960 building a fallout
shelter in our backyard.
To bad WW3 did not happened because it would have put the
breaks on Vatican 2, and may have never happened. The Church
would be so much the better today.
People had much stronger moral character in those days, and
suggestion of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ marriages would have be meant
with a trip to the mental hospital with the keys thrown away.
However years since, we have been disarming, adopted MAD,
mutual assured destruction in which Soviets never adopted.
Former President Clinton in the 1990's giving directives to
the Military to absorb a first strike.
With all the moral decay these days, I am afraid that many
Americans will be watching "Dancing with the Stars" and
"American Idol" as the missiles come blasting in.

There doesn't seem to be much awareness/preparedness amongst Catholics! We should go to Mass everyday when we can and if unable, send our Guardian angel(s).

A restaurant in Northridge just got torn down after surviving the Northridge earthquake in 1994, and they filled in the basement to rebuild a new restaurant on top of it.  

I know a family that lives in Malibu where their father dug a bomb shelter in 1960, then some 10 years later he died and his two sons filled in the hole in the ground.  They were in a hurry to fill it up and they had an old car, so they put the car in there too.  It's now 8 feet underground.  The surviving son is a communist sympathizer so he's not worried about Russia dropping nukes on us.

There was another major incident in 1983, Able Archer, not nearly as well known as the Cuban Missile Crisis, that brought us close to a nuclear war.

I agree with everything you wrote, and all I can say is that although God has not allowed or caused such a great chastisement to happen yet, but with the world speedily embracing the sin of Sodom, it makes one wonder how long we have.

It seems that the proportion of just men is radically dropping in our times, and the percentage of wicked men is rising fast.

I think that Catholics are aware, it's just that other than prayer and sacrifice, we are bystanders watching events beyond our control at this point.  

Frank Sheed was a street preacher in London, in the 40's and 50's.  There are no Catholics doing that anymore.  Everyone thinks such soap-box laymen are nut cases.  They're all "pentecostal preachers" with a claim to one particular street corner.  Today, if you tried that in London, the Mohammedans would assault you and if you tried to defend yourself, they would sue you in Sharia law court (which is up and running in London) and you wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

The world is moving at a continual increased rapid pace towards sin, and most especially the sins that cry to God for vengeance.
 

Who is the victim in the sin against nature, unnatural vice, sin of Sodom?

The other three have obvious victims:  the innocent victim of murder;  a laborer who has been defrauded of his just wages;  the poor who is oppressed.  But who is the victim in the sin of Sodom?  Most often the victim and the perpetrator are one and the same because they trade places and are willing accomplices.
