The true Jerusalem is the Church, is it not?

Quote
And this shall be the plague where with the Lord shall strike all nations that have fought against Jerusalem: the flesh of every one shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Yes, but you must understand which Jerusalem is being spoken of.

There is this one:

Ezekiel 8:3  And the likeness of a hand was put forth and took me by a lock of my head: and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the vision of God into Jerusalem, near the inner gate, that looked toward the north, where was set the idol of jealousy to provoke to jealousy.

Which killed Our Lord:

Apocalypse 11:8  And their bodies shall lie in the streets of the great city, which is called spiritually, Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord also was crucified.

And there is this one:

Hebrews 12:22-23  But you are come to mount Sion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to the company of many thousands of angels, And to the church of the firstborn, who are written in the heavens, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the just made perfect,

And here they're both mentioned:

Galatians 4:25-6  For Sina is a mountain in Arabia, which hath affinity to that Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But that Jerusalem, which is above, is free: which is our mother.

The Jews have been judged, and their judgment mirrors that of another, the Conciliar Church in bondage with her children, where the Lord is crucified anew (Hebrews 6:6).

There are Jews, and there are true Jews (Romans 2:28-9); there is Jerusalem, and then there is Jerusalem (see above); there are Catholics, and then there are Catholics:

Romans 9:6-8  Not as though the word of God hath miscarried. For all are not Israelites that are of Israel:  7 Neither are all they that are the seed of Abraham, children; but in Isaac shall thy seed be called:  8 That is to say, not they that are the children of the flesh, are the children of God; but they, that are the children of the promise, are accounted for the seed

That verse sound like nukes melting down enemies of God and the Church, or fires or a pathogen sent from Heaven to wipe them out? Fires from Heaven is prophesied in the Bible but I'm wondering if it's the cause of what happens in this particular verse.

Could be literal. Then again, could be metaphorical.

Doesn't really matter does it? Point is, the enemies of Christ and His sheep will be judged and destroyed, rather severely it seems.
