Controversial plans for a €20bn nuclear power station just 150 miles form Ireland have been approved by the European Commission.
The Irish Government has been accused of turning a blind eye to the environmental risks the new plant in Somerset, UK, will bring for Ireland.

Its distance from the Irish coastline will be the same as travelling between Dublin and Cork.
Green Party leader Eamon Ryan also said the European Commission broke its own competition rules by allowing massive state subsidies for new nuclear power plants.
