  • That video is very disturbing to watch even the first few seconds, please explain its purpose and why Catholics should watch it?

  • And how about some description and a rundaown on what it is about?
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • Crap music.
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

  • If Alex Jones and heavy metal had a child.

You call that music? Even if there is a grain of truth in it, it's still EXCEEDINGLY ugly and disordered.

I thought *I* had a broad and varied taste in music... I wouldn't want to listen to a song like that even once per 5 years.

In the "once in a long while" category, I would rather watch/listen to "Just" by Radiohead, and that's pretty rough already. Not exactly something I'd listen to all the time, or impose on others around me. But at least the latter has a pleasing chord progression and a lot more melody to the verses. And a weird but not disturbing-weird music video.

I was introduced to this video when I worked at a video/appliance/computer/furniture store when I was 18, where I worked as a door greeter. "DirecTV" was new and all the rage, and they kept one TV set to a music channel. I still remember it because it had such a weird ending. I didn't like the song enough to buy the CD though.

  • After listening to this garbage, I need to listen to some real music. I love this song about Billy's mother.

  • Despite some dated references this popular tune has aged quite well:

Patience is a conquering virtue. The learned say that, if it not desert you, It vanquishes what force can never reach; Why answer back at every angry speech? No, learn forbearance or, I'll tell you what, You will be taught it, whether you will or not.
    -Geoffrey Chaucer

  • Good ol' Marty Robbins called it like it was. Definitely relevant today.

"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

I like many Cole Porter tunes, especially “Begin the Beguine” and “Night and Day”.
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

I forgot about “Begin the Beguine”!
I like that people are posting some of their favorites. It's quite enjoyable and relaxing to spend a while just listening to good music of different genres.
I think Billie Holiday is a timeless great and one of my favorites.

  • The lyrics have meaning and truth. The ugly imagery in the video is an expose and condemnation of the ugliness of the world.
