In watching some of the upheaval in Africa, the Ivory Coast conflict caught my eye. Not only because of the Salesian St. Therese mission which was attacked and hundreds killed, but also in noting that the forces which are attacking are Muslim. Those they are attacking are Catholic. The president who lost in November - which may even be debatable - is a Catholic. And then, the one who won, is this man, "Mr Ouattara, a former International Monetary Fund economist," according to some BBC report I read. Moreover, from what I've read, he's a Muslim. So, it's not a civil war - really it's a religious war. No surprise, I'm sure. Just truly sad.
