TEHRAN (FNA)- Israeli forces raided the al-Aqsa Mosque Compound on Sunday and fired rubber-coated steel bullets at worshipers.
Clashes broke out earlier in the morning when Israeli officers closed the area to Palestinian worshipers and opened the Moroccan Gate for a group of right-wing Israelis.
Dr. Ziad Srour, who was on duty at a clinic inside the compound, said 20 young Palestinians were injured during the clashes.
The majority, he said, were hit by rubber-coated bullets in the head and received treatment in clinics inside the compound.
Meanwhile, a group of right-wing Israelis led by Yehuda Glick entered the compound via the Moroccan gate. Worshipers hurled stones and fireworks at them as they were escorted by Israeli police.
Also, Palestinians clashed with Israeli forces in several East Jerusalem neighborhoods overnight while protesting the ongoing Israeli attack on Gaza.
Local committee member Muhammad Abu al-Hummus said that 10 Palestinians were injured in clashes in al-Isawiya as Israeli forces sprayed 'skunk' water and fired rubber-coated steel bullets.
