  • TEHRAN (FNA)- Israeli forces raided the al-Aqsa Mosque Compound on Sunday and fired rubber-coated steel bullets at worshipers.
Clashes broke out earlier in the morning when Israeli officers closed the area to Palestinian worshipers and opened the Moroccan Gate for a group of right-wing Israelis.

Dr. Ziad Srour, who was on duty at a clinic inside the compound, said 20 young Palestinians were injured during the clashes.

The majority, he said, were hit by rubber-coated bullets in the head and received treatment in clinics inside the compound.

Meanwhile, a group of right-wing Israelis led by Yehuda Glick entered the compound via the Moroccan gate. Worshipers hurled stones and fireworks at them as they were escorted by Israeli police.

Also, Palestinians clashed with Israeli forces in several East Jerusalem neighborhoods overnight while protesting the ongoing Israeli attack on Gaza.

Local committee member Muhammad Abu al-Hummus said that 10 Palestinians were injured in clashes in al-Isawiya as Israeli forces sprayed 'skunk' water and fired rubber-coated steel bullets.

  • Isn't the Al-Aqsa Mosque the building currently occupying the real estate where the old Temple formerly stood?

In other words, isn't this the building preventing the Jєωs from rebuilding the Temple?

  • I'm not 100% sure, but I thought I remembered reading that the Temple was already in the works... ?

Behold, the fruit of the Pope's prayers for peace with the Jєωs and Muslims in the Vatican!
    Ecuмenism breaks the First Commandment.

"...what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap."  St. Paul to the Judaizing Catholics in Galatia. ch. 6, v. 8.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Good. I hope Israel takes care of business. Maybe if the Palestinian terrorists didn't lob hundreds of rockets a day into Israel then Israel wouldn't have to defend itself. That said, the USA needs to stay out of it. That means not taking sides. That means not giving Israel weapons, money, and whatever else we give them.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque is on the Temple Mount, but it is not the building that sits on the supposed location of the old Temple.  That distinction falls to the Dome of the Rock.

I'm curious, would the Temple Mount be considered sacred to Catholics?  It was once the dwelling place of God (no longer, of course).

    Why not?

As a matter of fact, the entire Holy Land should be Catholic-owned and run. That's the whole idea behind the Crusades!

And as a Traditional Catholic, I have no problem with the Crusades.

I don't think that this situation calls for a happy dancing banana.

Hope the Pope visits the Castro District in San Francisco to lend his support to the gαys next. That should be good for half of California falling into the ocean. :dancing-banana: :rahrah:

When the Byzantine Empire ruled Jerusalem, and the city was populated mainly by Christians, the Temple Mount was used as a garbage dump, and not as shrine of any kind (even a church) to show that the Old Law was completely abolished.

I'm not sure how it was treated during the Crusader period.
