Lebanon is the last Catholic vestige in the middle east. They are always being attacked because the one thing moslems and Jєωs have in common is that they both hate Catholics.
I don't think the Muslims hate Catholics all that much. When Israeli TV broadcast a blasphemous show about Our Blessed Mother, it was mostly the Muslims who were out rioting to defend her honor. They highly revere Jesus and Mary, even if they don't give them their proper due, and they would execute someone promoting the filth against Our Lord that's found in the тαℓмυd.
This idea that Muslims hate Christians is partly Jєωιѕн myth and partly Jєω-created brainwashing. My father knew both Muslims and Christians who had come over from Lebanon / Israel / Palestine in the 1950s and 1960s, and they all told him that Muslims, Christians, and even Jєωs co-existed quite peacefully in the region until the State of Israel was created.
Jєωs try to create the propaganda that Muslims hate Christians and vice-versa so that the two could wipe each other out while they sit on the sidelines munching (kosher) popcorn.

There are some of the more-radical regimes, but these were created and propped up by the Jews. Despite the crusades, which were more about who controlled the Holy Land than about some deep-seeded contempt for religion, you have correspondence and examples where the two sides at least somewhat respected one another. And since then, this notion of any "radical Islam" that still remains was about as rare as Christians who believed that countries should be taken over and converted to Christianity ... until the Jews started creating these fake Muslim regimes. In fact, a lot of the trouble in the Middle East is due to the Jews drawing up artificial boundaries and fake countries, where you had some countries deliberately drawn up as half Shiite and half Suni, just to set up later conflicts where they tried to wipe each other out (such as with Iran-Iraq war).
