Hamas in Gaza is an enemy of Israel and is attracting on itself an Old Testament curse which will also apply to Iran, or any other force which tries to attack Israel.

Zechariah 12
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

St Pius X absolutely refused to support an Israeli state in the Holy Land; anyone who does so defies his wisdom and therefore the Magisterium of Roman Catholic Church--good luck!!

The Vatican and Zionism by the judaic Sergio Minerbi is worth reading. It is one source for the conversation between T. Herzl and Pius X.

Apparently Card Gibbon was quite friendly w/ judaics. He said publically that the Vatican approved of the plans of the Zionistas in Palestine. This is a volte face from the policy of St Pius X and one reason that we may think of Benedict XV as an anti-pope some day.
