Well, they think that just throwing the term "Opus Dei" out there proves their narrative, just as the anti-Putinites throw "Dugin" and "Duginism" out there. Great. "Opus Dei" is not good. Where's the evidence that +Vigano is an OD agent other than that he knows a couple people who happen to be in OD? Where's a credible Cui bono? Any decent conspiracy theory must establish a credible cui bono? even to qualify as a conspiracy theory. As I said, I've known people in OD myself. Ah, that must be why I'm defending +Vigano, because I'm part of the consiracy since I knew some guys who were in OD (and I rejected their invitations to come check them out).
This reminds me of the narrative about Bishop Williamson being a Rosicrucian. Could he be? I suppose it's theoretically possible. But where's the evidence beside a "rose and a cross" on his coat of arms? I guess St. Therese was a Rosicrucian also, because she's always dected with a cross or crucifix surrounded by roses.
Agreed.
You’d think that if someone was going to make those kinds of allegations, they’d be able to point to some unorthodox doctrinal statements within Viganò’s many writings to support the controlled resistance narrative.
Instead, one person objected to his appearance at a certain political rally last year, another objected to what he isn’t saying, and a third doesn’t reference his writings at all.
So it would seem that the reason we’re all supposed to reject the traditional antidote Vigano is injecting into the conciliar disease is...what, exactly?
Hardly anyone outside of the Novus Ordo Watch orbit has made any doctrinal objection to anything he’s said, and even on this forum, most sedes (of whatever stripe) like what he’s saying.
I’m just not sure why anyone has a problem with him (consecration notwithstanding).
Hell, if Opus Judei actually taught what Vigano is teaching, they’d be traditionalists too.
The old maxim is that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
But here, there isn’t any evidence at all.
To me, the opposition is a head scratcher, and so far as NOW is concerned, I can’t help thinking that whatever they say on their website, there’s plenty of Nicodemus’s among them too.
