  • I think everyone should have at least 3 months worth of supplies in their homes but a year would even be better.  Food, water, feminine hygiene, tp, first aid etc.

We would all do well to learn from some of the excellent prep websites that out there.  Youtube is a gold mine!

I've never worried about terrorists so much as shortages due to weather or natural disasters.

  • I think you're right, Marlelar, and I've been working on trying to increase our stockpile.

Some people are opposed to "prepping" because they think it's crazy to be "obsessing" about the end of the world. But prepping is good for things a lot less serious than "the great chastisement" or a total breakdown of the government. Things like a bad ice storm or blizzard(in my part of the world), a bad flood, or a hurricane, have in recent years resulted in severe shortages in localized areas for weeks.

I'd much rather not have to rely on the Red Cross or FEMA under such circuмstances.

I've got a good gravity filter for water in emergency, and have started building up food. Good point about toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, et al.

If things ever really got bad, such items could be worth more than gold as bartering materials too. I seem to recall reading that in Wiemar Republic Germany when there was hyper inflation, cigarettes and alcohol were the best "currency".

I don't know about in the US but in Canada people seem to drink (Tim Horton's) coffee like crazy. I imagine having a stockpile of coffee could be very valuable too.

Merkel is in denial, the Czech are ALSO warning their citizens to prepare! What does the EU know?!

Czech News CT24 confirmed the German governments call to stockpile food and water. But the Czech Republic tells its people to “Prepare for the worst”. So what is coming that the EU fears?

GERMAN Gov. ORDERS CITIZENS: “STOCKPILE FOOD & WATER for 10 Days…CATASTROPHE Coming”

These days it seems like most Western governments are reluctant to tell their citizens to be prepared for disasters. They seem more interested in keeping their citizens in the dark, and dependent on them during a crisis. So on the rare occasion that a government does tell the people to get ready, you know something crazy is in the works.

That’s what seems to be going on in Germany, where for the first time since the end of the Cold War, the government is planning to tell its citizens to stock up on food and water. They’re about to roll out a civil defense plan that was written in 2012, to deal with an attack or catastrophe. Though details are sparse, German newspapers have been told that “the population will be obliged to hold an individual supply of food for ten days.”

So far the German government hasn’t explicitly said what they want the population to prepare for. However, the contents of their 69 page preparedness docuмent are very telling. It says that a conventional national defense response won’t be necessary, but that the people need to“prepare appropriately for a development that could threaten our existence and cannot be categorically ruled out in the future.” The plan also calls for increasing the structural integrity of buildings, and increasing the capacity of their healthcare system.

In other words, they want the population to be ready for an attack that won’t require a massive military response, like say for a foreign military invasion, but this hypothetical attack could “threaten our existence.”Sounds like the German government is preparing for widespread terrorist attacks.

  • Don't forget to have a good supply of cigarettes and wiskey to share with the soldiers of an occupying force... I actually read this from a source published back in the 50's. It was presumed, for the most part, that the average inlisted soldier would be in near the same condition of the occupied.

    Just food for thought.

  • Whiskey has a great shelf life, but cigarettes don't.

And cigarettes are EXPENSIVE, especially if you don't smoke them yourself.  You could have $1,000 worth or more in a case of cigs that just go stale waiting on the shelf.  The occupying soldiers won't be very impressed with stale cigarettes.  It could just make them angry with you.

Better to spend it on whiskey and forget the cigarettes.

  • Per the article Matthew posted above:

So far the German government hasn’t explicitly said what they want the population to prepare for.

They won't, because it would incriminate them in being partakers of what will befall Europe. They can't reveal foreknowledge. They already made that mistake with the Project for a New American Century's predictive programming of 9/11.

    Red herring.

and increasing the capacity of their healthcare system.

This is exactly it. They're readying themselves for a pandemic.

A pandemic caused by terrorism releasing a pathogen. Yes, it will be deliberate release, but the "bad guys" reported about in the media will be scapegoats (probably ISIS or similar). The real culprits will be the Bankersteins.
