Yes, they're going to be gradually escalating it enough so that an attack seems plausible.
I just don't think that an attack on a US ship would suffice to get the US public behind what they have planned.
I strongly believe they're going to hit the US, perhaps with a nuke, perhaps NYC (as per my other thread) -- that's why they installed Mamdani there.
Since they like numbers, and they've had a 9/11 and a 7/7 ... perhaps they'll use 7/11 (a combo of the Israeli event with the US event). After the fact of 9/11, we saw later that many TV shows and movies had prior references to the 9/11 event.
Later they claimed this was coincidence. Absolutely ZERO chacne that you would have 911 (with the 11 made by the Twin Towers), and there was no bus fare for $9 or anything close to it, and if you saw this episdoe, they strangely held the magazine up for several seconds.
