  • There is a casualty list of 300 some personnel floating in different blogs about this.  When people are named of course, it becomes very real and also very verifyable with families and records etc...  This should be busted or confirmed real quick now.

  • From the first time I heard of the base exploding, I knew that it had to be worse than a few boxes of ammunition being lost.

$1 billion sounds a lot more reasonable. It has to be a big loss for our side.

Do you suppose there is any connection between this, and the subsequent takeover of cities by insurgent militia? (And the huge uptick in violence, for that matter)

Do they think they've dealt the U.S. forces a big blow? Maybe they're getting bold as a result...

  • Dunno,

I have not read that the falcon base incident was claimed by any groups, so we don't know what group or militia perpetrated the attack.

"They" is quite hard to define as there are many militia's, mixed in with ethnic violence, insurgency and tribal allegiances. It's quite dicey to make connections.

The Ramadan is quite certainly a reason for the upsurge.  I'm anxious to see after the Ramadan and US mid-term to see if the upsurge has a fuel of it's own, or if it's due to the 2 external factors I just wrote.

    We'll see.

  • I've come to the conclusion that the story above is disinformation.  It's mirrored on a report published on tbrnews.org and came complete with a casualty list.

1- Enough time has elapsed that a cover-up while having a publicly available casually list (300 long) is virtually impossible.

    2- tbrnews.org is not a reliable source.

Following up on my own writings...

The Ramadan and US elections are now over and US military death has gone down from an average of 3 a day to now 1 every 2 days.  This, without any changes in US exposures.

Clearly, the insurgents have shifted their targets away from US forces.

  • Thank you for that,

I had allready made up my mind on it, but still lacked the satisfactory assurance.

Another nail in in the coffin of TBRNews.org
