I have the "Life of Venerable Anna Maria Taigi" and her prophecies seem to coincide with Irlmaier. She clearly refers to Three Days of Darkness. Egypt in Holy Writ experienced three days of physical darkness because of the persecution of the Jews. The Apocalypse, at the opening of the sixth seal, says "suddenly there shall be a great earthquake and the sun shall become black as sackcloth of hair." But after this event there is a religious awakening, which I take to be the reign of Mary.
Anna Maria died in 1837, nine years before Pius IX became pope, but she apparently had a vision of his entire papacy. One Italian priest questioned her one day about the upcoming pope, whether he was among the Italian priests. She answered him, "He is a humble priest not in the Pontifical States, but in a far distant land." In fact, Abate Mastai (Pius IX) at the time was attached to the Nunciatura of Chile.
And it also seems that France will be the catalyst for the renewal, when it comes. The bishop of Moulins, France, once asked Pius IX about the fate of France, and Pius replied, "No, no, France will not perish; if France were to perish, it would be a sign that those evil days which are to precede the end of time had arrived." And in the same book Padre Calixte remarked:
"France, the first to be punished for her excesses, will also be the first to arise, by a sudden and, as it were, miraculous restoration under a wise and good monarch. She will then aid the other nations to stifle in their bosoms that revolution which they have received from her." (p. 327)
