  • I cannot confirm it, but it would not surprise me at all, as they are two genetically modified peas in the same genetically modified pod, if I may use such an image.

  • Kissinger is always a bad sign.  But unless we can confirm this, lets just theorize.

  • Sorry Campy, it is true. It is reported in La Stampa and Catholic World News. Birds of a feather scatter the flock together I would say. My mother always said that you are known by the company you keep. How much more will this "pope" due before people wake up? Everyone is sooo happy that he said the sacrifice is for the many and not for all. See, they say he is traditional. Ane will you please look at what he does in the mean time? He just threw that out to keep the trad masses satiated for a while.

  •  :surprised:Benedict also lets Paul Wolofowitz advice him??? I thought it as sad and sick enough when the middle-aged, shirt-shirt opened leather clad, and oh of course "Catholic" Bono was called in to consult with the Popes. Even gave JPII,Magnus Magnus a pair of those matrix style glasses, to cool :bob-marley:JPII gave Bono a rosary. Probably calledthem LUV Beads :bob-marley: This iso blatent, but, the fun comes when listening to the leaders of the Novus Ordo gon on and on about how wordly their Pope is.The world does love our new popes. That should speak volumes to those who still think that Benedict should be sitting where he is.

  • Vatican spokesman says pope did not ask Kissinger to be his adviser

    VATICAN-KISSINGER Dec-4-2006
    By Cindy Wooden
    Catholic News Service

    http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0606883.htm

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope Benedict XVI does not have a foreign affairs advisory board, and he has not asked former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger to become one of his advisers, the Vatican spokesman said.

Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi said it is true that Kissinger met privately with the pope Sept. 28 and that Mary Ann Glendon, a U.S. law professor and president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, has invited Kissinger to speak to the academy at the Vatican in late April.

"Those are the only two concrete facts," Father Lombardi told Catholic News Service.
Articles in Italian and U.S. newspapers reporting that the pope had asked Kissinger to become an adviser or consultant "are without any foundation," he said Dec. 4.
A New York-based correspondent for the Italian newspaper La Stampa wrote Nov. 4 that Kissinger had told an "important member of the Italian government" of the papal offer and that "a diplomatic source" at the Vatican had confirmed that "an important dialogue is under way" between the pope and Kissinger.

The rumor has been circulating in newspapers and on the Internet since the newspaper article was published.
