Smoke from fires burning in Alberta do not have any particular chemical smell. Smoke emanating from fires down east, Ontario and Quebec I would not be surprised to smell and hear there are other contaminates in the air, as there is a large industrial area which created enough bad air - and oppressive humidity - to warrant blaming that part of the country for the vile particles swooping southward.

Last two days have been very warm to hot here and there is definitely a haze hanging over the region. If will get winds from north and west, then we shall see a heavier layer of smoke droop over the city like demon's wings unfolding above us as a mantle.

And this is only early June. If arid conditions will persist, July and August look to be miserable for air quality.

Frankly if God wants to give the capital region a good smoky thrasing, it is more than deserved. Too many socialists/communists voting for the idiot and ungodly left. I would be like Nero, singing as the city goes up in flame!

I do smell burnt trees mixed in the chemical smoke.

Many fires that have been started are arson.  They need to clear these woods. Too much dead trees blown over.  Maybe if they cleared some of forests of debri, there would be less fires.
