Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal is currently seriously ill, and Turki al-Faisal is seen as his likely successor.

It's very likely just that simple.

The Saudis are saying they'll enter the Iraq conflict if the US leaves, because they don't want the Sunnis being overrun by the Shiites.

Prince Saud al-Faisal, 75, is seriously ill (don't know what illness) and has been traveling to and from the United States for surgery.

Don't confuse both names - they are brothers -, Turki al-Faisal, 61 who just resigned at the UN is the likely successor to the above at the Foreign Ministry position.
