I think maybe the Pennsylvania story was a deliberately contrived "American hero" story to add patriotic vim & distraction, in garnering support of the masses for the attacks on Iraq & Afghanistan.
Andy, that is a certainty. The abuse of the public's emotions is one of the prime methods used to stifle critical thinking and develop the "patriotic" herd mentality.
If there had been no "Let's Roll" and "Todd Beamer" Hollywood cartoon hagiography, more members of the public, particularly those with the military/flight experience, might have questioned the non-existent air defense response.
Speaking of
American heroes, did you see the Hannity show Sunday evening?
Called
The Man Who Killed Osama bin Laden, a seemingly orchestrated showpiece interview of Rob O'Neill and his father, among others. (O'Neill has such a classy name!) It makes good video. They leave out critical information, perhaps classified. But O'Neill is able to tell some very interesting details about his training, the mission, and its aftermath.
I watched it with a friend who believes the MSM version of 9-11. I told my friend that this video interview makes O'Neill look so good I really think he ought to run for president. Hey: if he can cut the mustard for Seal Team Six after not knowing how to swim a few months before, this guy can do ANYTHING. Imagine the miracles that would precipitate from having a real Team Player in the White House once again?!
But I digress. Getting to the point here, I asked him,
"What does Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden, or his assassination for that matter, have to do with 9-11?" Guess what he said?
