I think Alex Jones is an idiot and horrible representative/ poster-guy for the gun rights movement. But this was pretty dang cool. I think 3D printing is the next big thing.

Not sure- but I think getting the 3D printer would be priority #1 - I saw that they can be bought for about 2k right now. Give it another 3 years, and you'll be able to buy one for $500.

Or if you know someone with a reprap or makerbot they can print most of the parts for your own printer for you

Friends of mine have created printers for around $500 (well, really, they got it for $300, but that was thanks to economies of scale).
