Is anybody else having difficulty in connecting to CI, accessing threads, and posting? Or is it only me?
I am frequently getting a timed out message- that no connection can be made- no matter how many times I try.

I got hit by a bunch of bots today. The bots come and go in waves.

Here is the good part: the router I recently upgraded to is much more advanced, and allows me to see these bot visitors IN REAL TIME so I can process them, sort them into piles, and easily block them.
Which I did just now.

But you have to tell me when the problem is happening, so I can act on it.

I did notice we have 8,000+ guests -- that's pretty much bot-heaven. When it's less than 5K, you barely notice.

A second wave hit, which I also caught.

I have a way to "merge" them together, so I don't end up with a ton of duplicates in my blacklist, but I also don't miss any.

I'm going to keep an eye on this.

I believe I know my weak point, and yes, it's related to the number of bots hitting the server at once.

Same here. If I click on anything after finally getting in, I get an OOPS then disconnect.
At first it wouldn't let me sign in saying that user name didn't exist.

I went back 20 min later to see if any new bots came, but none did. The only traces (footprints) of bots left have already been blocked for more than 20 minutes. In other words, this particular "wave" of bots is done.
It's down to a dull roar.

Everyone should be able to get into CathInfo at the moment.

Just send me an e-mail if you have ANY issues going forward. It's the only way I can fix it.

P.S. I moved this thread to the correct subforum. This isn't a male or female specific issue. It needs to be in the general forum.
