  • What Traditional Catholic hymns are your favorite? Mine is without a doubt Immaculate Mary.

Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • This is one of the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in my life.

Alongside this, I almost cried when I first heard it. Truly beautiful:

For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

  • Just about anything by Palestrina, such as this:

I'm also partial to Byrd's  Ave Verum Corpus:

This isn't traditional, but I love Biebl's Ave Maria:

And what does the music of satanic idiots (the Beatles) have to do with Traditional Catholicism? Please stay on-topic.

  • My favourite is Adoro Te Devote.  I also like the tune with the English translation done by Gerald Manley Hopkins, Godhead Here in Hiding.  We sang this at Mass today so I am happy.  :)

My preferences are strongly influenced by theological content, so I really like all of the St. Thomas Aquinas Eucharistic hymns.  Corpus Christi is a good day for me.

The Beatles are certainly not orthodox Catholics but satanic idiots??? I do not believe that.

My apologies though for bringing secular music into the discussion.

That makes it worse.  Their music was anti-Catholic but I do not want to derail this thread discussing it.  The "satanic idiots" comment was actually pretty reasonable.

  • Early Beatles is much different from what comes after 1965. Possibly this later music could sometimes be described as anti-catholic. The v2 anti-church is on record endorsing the Beatles beginning with Revolver(1966). Think about that.

  • This was a great thread and I don't want to derail it.  If you really want to discuss the Beatles, I would like us to start a new thread for it.  What would be the most appropriate sub-forum?
