  • I stumbled across this picture just now, of Changching Cathedral in Pyongyang, North Korea.

It jumped out at me how almost all of the women are veiled and dressed modestly.

  • Wow, that's a lot of Westerners for being Pyongyang.  It's my understanding from just wiki, that they have no priest or bishop, so foreign clergy come.  I wonder where they are coming from?
    please pray for me

Might be an opportunity for a Traditional priest to pay them a visit and introduce them to the real Catholicism that has been stolen from them by the same Commies (and Jєωs) that also oppress their country.

It looks like the Westerners are in the first two or three rows, insofar as ethnicity can be determined from looking at the backs of people's heads (hair color, height, apparent skin color).  I don't think shaving the head is common among NK males.  These could be Catholic diplomatic personnel from the various Western countries that have embassies in Pyongyang.

  • One thing positive that can be said of DPRK is that people are required to dress modestly.  No freaky make up or hairstyles are allowed, either.  Not that I’d ever go there because all visitors are obliged to make an offering of flowers and bow before the statues of the previous dear leaders who they worship as gods.  Against the first commandment!

  • Oh North Korea, the country that you can only visit with a guide and a predetermined route. I guess that "Catholicism" there, and all religions in general, are modified by the Juche Party. China style but worse.

Nice to see they're abiding by 1917 Code canon 1262 (which, unsurprisingly, has no 1983 equivalent):
    Quote from: 1917 Code
§ 1. It is desirable that, consistent with ancient discipline, women be separated from men in church.
§ 2. Men, in a church or outside a church, while they are assisting at sacred rites, shall be bare-headed, unless the approved mores of the people or peculiar circuмstances of things determine otherwise; women, however, shall have a covered head and be modestly dressed, especially when they approach the table of the Lord.
