  • Is it true that women are not allowed in the sanctuary in the TLM? if so Why have I seen some women put flowers on the altar then?


    Also what are the theological reasons behind not having women in the sanctuary beyond the communion rail?

  • There would be no reason for a woman to be in the sanctuary for the TLM because women do not have any liturgical roles in traditional liturgy that would require or permit them to be there.  This does not mean a woman can never set foot in the sanctuary for some practical purpose outside of the liturgy, such as the one you mention.
