  • I know that the consecrations of the Eucharist done outside the Church are valid but I wonder why God chooses to send the Holy Ghost upon the Gifts. I can understajd the reasoning behind an ortho liturgy since babies commune and they get grace from Communion but I am curious to why God would send the Paraclete down on the Gifts done during a gnostic or black mass with no infants present.

  • Because they are validly ordained and valid ordinations leave an indelible mark on one's soul that not even apostasy or schism can erase.

Wow!  I had never thought of that before.  Point well made.

  • It's been a while and if I ever come across it again I will post it, but I'm pretty sure that in one of his talks, Fr. Hesse explains why the consecration is invalid and does not happen during a black mass, even when done according to the rubrics by a valid priest.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse
