  •   A prot bible that I eventually destroyed had a verse which said: " His mother and brethren wanted to.... because they thought He was mad" There is no such thing in catholic Bible. I seared  drbo.org and only found this:

21 And when his friends had heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him. For they said: He is become mad. 22

So how/why did prots added the word 'mother to it???

  •   The verse in DRB is Mark ch 3 verse 21.
I don't know about the prot version with 'mother' in it.

  • None of the Protestant Bibles contain the word "mother" in the verse.

Perhaps you were reading the commentary part of the Bible. For instance, Wesley's bible notes concerning this verse is:

Mr 3:21 His relations - His mother and his brethren; Mr 3:31. But it was some time before they could come near him.

  •   Yes may be. It was a 'commentary translation' It was even written on it's introduction!
      It lacked many verses!

  • By the way, Wesley's inclusion of "mother" as part of the translation for "relations" is blasphemous. Mary, whose heart was inseperable to that of Jesus, would never even think for a second that her Son had gone mad. Protestants think that Mary was just an ordinary woman.
