  • I have realized in some regions priests wear white cassocks. Is this due to the heat or is it a tradition? I see African priests wearing white cassocks along with Indian priests.

  • Yes, it is a concession due to the heat.

It's also been around a while. You've probably seen pictures of +ABL in a white cassock as a missionary in Africa. He was in the C.S.Sp (Holy Ghost fathers) then but to the best of my knowledge, their normal habit is not white.

  • Not only is it a concession for the heat, but even the meaning of the black cassock (death) is lost in Asian countries (at least China and Japan) where WHITE is the color of death.
So there's an added reason in Asia to set aside the black cassock in favor of a white cassock.

Yes, that is one of the reasons the traditional Chinese color for brides is red, not white.

    And the Indians.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,

  • Which is why Fr. Pfeiffer should lose the white cassock!  In the US, it’s symbolically incorrect, more in accord with the novus ordo, everyone goes to Heaven sect.  If you ask him, he’ll tell you he’s still under Bp. Fellay, his last official post with the SSPX being in the Philippines.
More important, though, is that he lose his warlock, close his “seminary” and rectify the matter of being a “bishop.”

Does he still wear white now that he thinks he's a "bishop"?

Good question!  No, I guess he wears whatever Thuc line bishops wear.  I had to break off contact in 2015 after a run-in with the warlock.  Fr. Pf. didn’t believe me, didn’t care, or was okay with it.  He didn’t really say and did nothing.  His inaction was a deal-breaker.

Looks like he went to a Trump rally dressed in white cassock, purple sash, like a missionary bishop in Africa/Asia.

He apparently uses a purple cassock sometimes.
