I remember reading articles on usury a while back and there was a passage cited (by Aquinas?) where a righteous man from the Bible let thieves or some people afflicting him of the property they can take in order to save his life and others. Does anyone know what passage in question this is? I know it is in the Old Testament but I don't know which book.

Nevermind, I found it

Thus too it is lawful for a man who has fallen among thieves to point out his property to them (which they sin (https://www.newadvent.org/cathen/14004b.htm) in taking) in order to save his life, after the example of the ten men who said to Ismahel (Jeremiah 41:8 (https://www.newadvent.org/bible/jer041.htm#verse8)): "Kill us not: for we have stores in the field
