For his birthday , I had bought my husband khaki colored jeans from Wrangler and a new western blazer.

Yes, for Christmas and Easter usually suit and tie.

I treated my Father for dinner at local diner.  There was an older attractive woman at another table and she was wearing ripped jeans.   Why would anyone want to pay big money for soiled looking or wear ripped jeans?  I remember my Mother would iron on cool butterfly patches when we wore out or ripped our jeans.

Nowadays ,when people are more concerned with exalting themselves, people are worse dressed than in the past.
Now rich people are even worse dressed than labourers in the past.

Some people nowadays are so stupid that they would wear whatever fashion dictates, even ripped Jean's. When people couldn't find ways to display their stupidity publicly, modern fashion comes to their rescue.
I remember when sin was dirty and the air was clean. Now the air is dirty and sin is 'clean.' Would to God that we could go back to the way it was.
