Title: Urgent request for a newborn in critical condition

Please send prayers for a small baby girl (V) born to A & M yesterday. V is in critical condition. She has been baptized. The need for prayers is urgent.

I know the situation is very serious and the doctors have recommended against optimism. Other than that, I have no further news. I will certainly provide updates when I have them. Please also pray for the parents.

I know it’s extremely difficult for them to see this now (as it would be for me), but if that baby dies, those parents will have their own little saint in heaven. I will still pray for her recovery, but God’s will be done. He knows best what that baby and the parents need.

This is what I have been told. Baby has been under a brain cooling procedure to help slow brain damage. Doctors are warming her up today, which often causes seizures. Her lungs are clotted/clotting. How she responds to the warming will tell them a lot about her prognosis.  This is what I have been told, I don't understand the underlying problems nor the treatment protocols. Thanks for continued prayers.

Received a text from the mother this morning indicating no improvement and inviting people to come meet baby. The tenor was that this will be the only/last chance to see her alive. Please keep the family in your prayers. I expect next update to be a death notice.

She died last night.  
.
On Saturday, we were able to make a visit (before she died). I have never had occasion to see hearts so broken. The father extended his gratitude for all of the prayers offered. He knows CI was storming Heaven for them.

God works in mysterious ways. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers. They are well-positioned, as their little Vivian will, I am sure, intercede on their behalf with prayers for healing and endurance.  
.
Thank you all again. Last week was very difficult for everyone in our small chapel community.  Our first funeral will be for an infant.

For those new to tradition, the funeral Mass for a baptised child who has not reached the age of reason is not a Requiem Mass with priest vested in black but the Mass of the Angels with the priest vested in white.

That is beautiful Miseremini!  Thank you for sharing!

We will continue to pray for the grief of the family and friends of this baby and hope that their sorrow will turn into rejoicing! 

I would love to see to a Requiem Mass for a little one like this (even though it is sad).  At least we know that their souls are saved and won't have to struggle through the sorrows of life and possibly fall away from the Faith. :pray:

My condolences to the family on the loss of their little one, but rejoicing as well on a saint in Heaven. :incense:
