I actually don't like most of the standard pictures of the Assumption of Our Lady, since they all have those fat little angel things ("putti"), which I can't stand.

    When you were reunited with the One who was ineffably born of you, Mother of God and virgin, the most holy and venerable Angelic Powers, in awe upon the sight of this wonder and bent with respect, said to themselves: ''Open all your doors and welcome the one who brought to the world the creator of Heaven and earth; of our songs of glory, let us celebrate the august and holy body which contained for us the Lord invisible."

   That is why, celebrating also your memory, we cry out: All worthy of praise, lift up the power of Christians and save our souls.
