Thank you so much for the prayers. :D They are heartfelt.
I have a guess as to what the cause is.. it's just a guess at this point, so I hesitate to say.. But since asked, I will.
I've had the puzzling symptom of my tremors tending to get worse sooner or later after eating meals. I've been fasting to an extreme for the past number of months due to this. The doctors just shrugged at this and paid no attention to the symptom, they didn't seem to take it seriously or at least recognize it as something important to look into. Two neurologists, my family doctor, a nurse practitioner -- nothing. The allergist thought maybe food intolerance but said that tremors would be an atypical reaction and left it at that. I struggled to get all the labwork done I wanted from the doctors, so I got some private lab tests done, expense being far from an issue outweighing the importance of it all.
Well after so many clean or innocuous lab tests, both doctor ordered and private, I finally got labwork back a couple days ago for a GI MAP, that looks for any bacterial, viral, or other pathogens in your digestive system. I got some postives for bacterial pathogens.
C. difficile, TOXIN A, C. difficile, TOXIN B, and h. pylori. were all flagged as high. I looked up C. difficile, and found animal testing had shown besides the usual symptoms of digestive problems, neurological problems can be caused by these. This, along with my symptoms becoming worse whenever eating, and the fact that a year ago I'd been doing quite poorly and had to treat myself with garlic, vitamin C over a long period of time and with antibiotics, would account for my not having enough good bacteria to combat off these bacterial pathogens and them in turn causing these problems that were only mitigated when they were not fed enough to propagate.
This is my guess. It's still just a guess, I certainly should research it more and will. It's one that may be somewhat verifiable unlike some other possibilities though. I see a gastroenterologist for the first time at the end of this week. What he'll think of it all I don't know.
These bacterial bathogens require very specific antibiotics to get rid of them, others will just cause them to get worse as they aren't much effected and take over where the good gut flora were. C. difficile can be fatal if it gets bad enough.
I still have to be cautious about eating but can eat a bit more than before, and while before it seemed the probiotics I took were not useful, I am now taking them with every meal and there appears likely to be some good cause/effect going on when I do that. I can eat somewhat more now before getting more tremors too.
So I think the guess has some potential to be correct, but whether the doctor will confirm it or not directly I can't say. I will say if I get a tailored antibiotic to take out these pathogens which I believe I should and will, and the tremors completely dissappear during receiving those medications, I will take that as confirmation.
Kyrie eleison. I have a lot of hymns and canticles I can almost hear -- I have a lot of hope. I certainly have resolved to be a more merciful and compassionate person in the future, praying for and receiving God's mercy I appreciate it a great deal more.
I am not out of the woods but if I keep on improving.. what a wonder it will be. :D Amen.
