  • You should read this book.  Or go to YouTube videos.  Diet change could help.   Meds and certain foods can hurt the body.

  • Again thank you so much. The prayers are so helpful.

I am reading up a lot about nutrition right now.

I am speculating the bad reaction after the antibiotics was either a herxheimer reaction (toxins released by dying bacteria all dying off at once) or some yeast/fungi taking over since all the good bacteria were killed off with the bad. I lean towards the latter explanation.

Still this is a bit grasping at straws but it's all I have. The hypothesis that toxins from pathogens in the gut are causing neurological problems.

So I am trying special diets that would treat gastrointestinal bacteria/yeast infections. High fiber, low carb/sugar, or no carb/sugar, or fasting.. whatever I can tolerate. No carbs, no sugars hypothetically means nothing to feed the pathogens. Also taking probiotics. I suspect the ones I'm trying that work best are because they are slow release. A probiotic before every meal appears to help. So need to look into this more and try out more natural solutions for these possible causes along with dietary changes.

In any case it's a fact that the muscle tremors respond to some degree to eating/diet and my taking probiotics. Perhaps this does not mean it's a gastrointestinal flora issue, but that's the most obvious seeming cause to me and only one I've got to work with until I or one of the doctors figures out something better.

There are some people that believe all sorts of health problems are caused by gut microbiome/flora problems, neurological issues of all kinds, mental disorders, fatigue, allergies, aches and pains, you name it. But it's a very unexplored health area, just like the brain, a whole lot that is just unknown.

I am praying a lot for folks in chronic pain these days. May God have so much, superabundant mercy on them. On the paraplegics, the invalids, the imprisoned, the homeless, the drug addicts, the sick, the alone, the elderly, the lost souls without the faith, upon the worst of the worst like myself, those most in pain and in need and most forgotten.. Lord have mercy, superabundant mercy, incomprehensible, mercy, all the more beyond our imagination. Through Thy Sacrifice, Lord have mercy.

'Let us abandon ourselves to Him, trust in Him, despoil ourselves of everything, and God will clothe us after His own way.'

    St. Paul of the Cross
    Sincerely,

    Shin

  • Dear Shin,

If you are going the dietary route, I would even eliminate the high fiber as a trial as it feeds the (bad) gut bacteria as well as inflaming an already inflamed bowel. As a strict anti-inflammatory diet trial why not just eat meat for two weeks? Butter water and salt allowed -that's it. ( no condiments either) If SIBO is your problem it will calm it down.
Nobody expects you to eat  like this forever. Just see if it works and then start adding foods.
If you also have upper GI pain/acid Mastic gum is very good for H Pylori.
PS If these things don't impact your symptoms, you may be a candidate for a fecal/bacterial transplant. They have a very high success rate.

Your prayer was the most heartfelt thing I've read in a long time. Thank you, Shin

  • As for probiotics, my daughter found out some gave her inflammation so she found what the ingredient was  that was not good for her gut and found that those that are to be refrigerated were w/o the ingredient and had to delivered to the house, cold.  I will try to see what that ingredient was. My daughter has crohens. All grains must be eliminated, all are contaminated. Even if the label says GMO free, it is still contaminated.

Check the “inactive ingredients” for polyethylene glycol.

  • The filler and other ingredients section has cost me a lot of money as I've mistakenly bought supplements only later to find issues.

Well, I think I finally have it down pat enough to at least have enough electrolyte supplements for water fasts. That will have to temporarily be on hold as I recover from the last fast, it can't be helped though things get worse somewhat quicker.

21st is my next doctor's appts. Head of the department. No high hopes here, but perhaps some new clue to pursue at least. Kyrie eleison.

  • May God reward and keep you.

When close family falls away from the faith, and family and friends are far apart, all the more our spiritual families praying for each other, our brothers and sisters in Christ are so important. :D

    Lord have mercy.

It's a good early morning out here.

  • Well.. I don't know what to say. There's no real news. As there was no real doctor. He showed up for about five minutes, apologized for being late, then couldn't get out fast enough -- tripped over a stool on his way out the door.

The head of neurology left it all to a PA-C. And the followup appt that was scheduled I found out later was again with a PA-C.

What I got out of those five minutes from him, was "There are many things we don't understand."

... The difference between the reviews online and the actual product in this case was.. quite extreme. I had rather hoped better of online doctor reviews.

I have a few more small tests coming up, and will await the genetics testing results that should come in in a few weeks. I also have a referral to an endocrinologist now, who perhaps I can persuade to look at the thyroid and do more than just a TSH test.

Kyrie eleison. Thank you again for all the prayers, well wishes and advice.

While my condition is worsening in some ways it is easier to bear, and I am not losing sleep at this time as I was previously, this makes a lot of difference. As different muscles are affected, it becomes easier or worse. I will keep working on trying supplements and the remedies that are available to me.

Perhaps a PA-C will be more willing to order tests outside of the routine. I must think of the positive side of it all. It is all within Providence's plans.

Well I've rambled on a bit. My mother may drive out to visit again for a few weeks, she is a senior citizen, in a few more years driving will likely be no longer for her. Prayers please for her safe trip.

God keep us all, and help us in our every need my friends.
    Sincerely,

    Shin

  • Shin,

I do hope that you can have a TSH test. Though it's mainly women who have thyroid problems, men can get it too.

There's natural doctor (naturopath, I think) named Tom Rofrono who I have been reading lately. I ordered his book from Amazon called, "The Free Diet." He tries to help people who have thyroid and parasite issues; namely, Blasto parasites, which is different from your parasite of course, but it may be a similar situation.

Here's a link to one of his articles. I tried his diet for a few days, and it really helped a lot. But since my husband is a vegetarian, and doesn't want meat in the house, I wasn't able to follow the diet very well. It's a strict diet. Here's a link:

God bless you and I wish you well.
