Friends, Deo gratias, my family is inclining more and more towards the traditions of Holy Church, especially now that Advent is very nearly upon us.
I need some links or suggestions for devotions, practices, decorations for the home, really ANYTHING having to do with a traditional Catholic observance of Advent, Christmas, Septuagesima and so on. Really just concentrating on Advent right now, but anything will help and be MUCH appreciated.
See, it seems that our extended families have been rather contentious with us lately regarding some of our life choices and our living situation. This, by the grace of Almighty God, has caused my wife and I to want to "circle the wagons" and strengthen our bonds as an immediate family. The Mrs. and I have been discussing Church history and Tradition for some time now (she was baptized and raised in a vomitously modern, relativistic Novus congregation). Little by little, she has come to see both the error of Newchurch and the errors of Protestantism (we still attend an independent Prot group - long story).
Since our situation is very similar to that of political prisoners or citizens of an occupied nation (again, difficult to explain simply), we must study, learn and begin to practice the Faith both gradually and in secret, since our extended families are either anti-Catholic on one hand or blatantly compromised ecuмenists on the other hand.
We covet your prayers as we travel towards full communion. Help us to begin to sanctify this Advent season and so to honor Our Lord and the Holy Family in proper and fitting ways.
St. Joseph, spouse of Our Lady and caretaker of Our Savior, pray for us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
