As not to derail the thread on the tangible presence of satan
https://www.cathinfo.com/general-discussion/have-you-ever-felt-the-tangible-presence-of-satan/#msg549158Poche shared a quote by St. Teresa of Avila discussing holy water. The Orthodox hold to the efficacious attributes of holy water in much the same way as the great Saint. It is kept in a stainless decanter and dispensed into one's containers. They do not have founts in their churches. St. Teresa is describing one taking the blessed water as if internally. The Orthodox drink their holy water as needed. I have never heard or read of Roman Catholics doing this until I read this quote.
Since I have had the fortune (misfortune) of visiting many NO parishes when seeking (misguidedly) spiritual support, I have come across odd holy water founts. A common theme is dirty scuм at the edges of these large fountains or bowls. For me it reflected on the church. Water that is holy is to be treated as such.
