  • Mysterious Dogma of the Immaculate Conception.
Thank you Pius IX for defining this stupendous Dogma, December 8, 1854.
Before 1854, Dec. 8 was the annual  "Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception".

I wish everyone a blessed Feast of the Immaculate Conception!

The measure of love is to love without measure.

Hour long audio which is very good. Words spoken or written by St. Bernadette, describing the many times the Beautiful Lady appeared at Lourdes.
Or in your browser type: "My Name is Bernadette" Catholic Culture
    Audio is 59:52 minutes 'short'

" My name is Bernadette" presented by Catholic Culture
    Time Stamp: 15:40

Word spoken, slowly -sadly, by The Immaculate Conception, February 24, 1858 (Eighth Apparition)

"Repentance! Repentance! Repentance! Pray to God for the conversion of sinners! Go! Kiss the ground as penance for sinners! "
[to repair for the pride of men]
    (In French: Pénitence!  Pénitence!  Pénitence!)

    Highlight of the narration.
    Time stamp: 28:45

"...Our Lady extended her hands towards the ground, then joined her hands on her Heart, ...lifted her eyes towards Heaven but not her head; came very close to me and said: I AM THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION." and disappeared.

And this, on March 25, 1858, the Feast of the Annuciation!!!
The exquisite timing can surely make one choke up with sentiments most noble and serene...
St. Bernadette also relates to the world: "Holiness and prayer are simple."

    Interesting historical detail is this:
    https://en.lourdes-infotourisme.com/explore/have-a-spiritual-experience/explore-the-sanctuary/the-unmissables/the-grotto-of-apparitions/

("... Bernadette went to the Massabielle rock, on the banks of the Gave, to gather dead wood. The spot was known as the “pigs’ shelter” as it was so dirty and dark. It was there that Bernadette heard a sound “like a gust of wind”. Then she saw a lady in the rock, which was the first apparition. 17 others would follow, until 16 July 1858....")

Sin is comparable to filth, evil, repugnancy. Our Lady of Loudres caused a miraculous spring of pure clear water to flow. There is firstly a direct connection with washing away our sinful habits, and then we 'float' onward to please God, with His graces, doing His Holy Will.

I remember touching the rock of the Grotto. Easy to meditate at such times.
    Pray.

  • His Excellency is on fire here, explaining what TRUTH is.

    Time Stamp: 14:00
First: The idea of Reality, things are what they are! independent of men's minds
Second: Truth, which is the correspondence of the mind with reality
Third: Definition, anchors the Truth, proclaimed by the Church, often with solemnity
Four: Certainty of the Truth, based on the authority of Holy Mother Church.

Therefore thank God for the gift of the Faith, when gazillions don't have a scrap of Faith in their bodies, as +W says.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for us! +
