  • The "trope" which is sung today (1st Sunday of Advent) right before the Introit, telling the story of where Gregorian Chant came from --

Is that story true, or is it poetic/apocryphal?

Did the Holy Ghost truly descend on St. Gregory in the form of a dove, during the inspiration he received for Gregorian Chant?

I mean, Gregorian chant is obviously heavenly, unique, sublime, and inspired by God -- but did it happen as the lyrics of the trope described?

    I'd like to know --

  • Was it the same "Dove" who alighted upon the soon to be, Pope Gregory XVII?

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

Maybe this guy is the real Pope in secret too.
