  • Does anyone know of the history before St. Pius X of the Confiteor to be said by the servers before receiving Holy Communion? I thought I had gathered that St. Pius X had inserted it into the Missal's rubrics because of his encouragement of the faithful to receive Holy Communion more frequently, but I am not sure if I understood that correctly. I am not against its practice at Mass, but it is sad that it is not in the actual 1960 rubrics. It is a common practice still nonetheless.
