  • I meant to post this picture over a month ago, but forgot. This is taken in North Eastern Washington during the height of the wildfires there. My brother went up to his property, even though the fire still burning in many areas, to try to save some objects. He took many pictures. He and his wife were astonished when they saw that the Sacred Heart statue was unscathed and that the fire had stopped there to save some of his property from being burned.

  • Miraculous.  But are we really surprised? Sacramentals really do work.  I used to have disturbances in my house until I planted blessed St Benedict medals.  Problems went away.

  • I recall a story told in a homily about seven years ago by an SSPX priest when I was still attending the local SSPX chapel. He said that there was a fire with strong winds headed in the direction (not extremely close) of the SSPX chapel which was located somewhere near Post Falls or Spokane, I think. The priests put blessed metals (St. Benedict, I think) outside at the four corners of the chapel, and right after this was done, the wind changed direction, and so did the fire, and so the chapel was out of danger. Maybe someone else on the forum knows more details about the story. I thought that it was quite amazing, and a great testimony of the power of the prayers of the Church attached to sacramentals.
"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

May I ask what kind of disturbances you had at your house? I am curious.
