  • I know this is late in coming though since we are now in the time after the octave of Easter.



    I was not able to embed the video.

    Here is the text in English and Latin with the part concerning the Jєωs that was suppressed by St. Pius V, which I have put in bold lettering:

    Latin:

    Victimae paschali laudes
     immolent Christiani.

     Agnus redemit oves:
     Christus innocens Patri
     reconciliavit peccatores.

     Mors et vita duello
     conflixere mirando:
     dux vitae mortuus,
     regnat vivus.

     Dic nobis Maria,
     quid vidisti in via?

     Sepulcrum Christi viventis,
     et gloriam vidi resurgentis:

    The sequence has been attributed to Wipo of Burgundy of the eleventh century and others. I imagine St. Pius V suppressed the part concerning the Jєωs due to not wanting to give them too much attention in the Catholic liturgy as opposed to giving into human respect like what we have seen in our present times.
